Before I can open my eyes, I feel like I need to decide if the wetness under my cheek is drool, sweat, or…something else.

It takes a minute for me to register what’s happening, because I’ve never had a heat where pain wasn’t in the forefront. I finally open my eyes as heat starts to lick at me again, late morning sun slanting through windows lacking any sort of treatment. I love that I can see trees, but I love even more that Easton is lazily drawing patterns on my hip.

A smile curls onto my face, sending me inching forward so I can get closer to him. “Hey.” I fling a leg over him and freeze. “Yesss, morning wood. Oh gods, please.”

After a wake-up kiss, I’m about to complain about it ending prematurely when he shocks the hell out of me by forcibly flipping me over and climbing over my legs so he can prod at me.
